All the best

Down and down is the current state for me, with things just not happening the way I want them to. I feel it's ok because this is becoming a clear way for me to decide what on earth do I want to do in life. Many questions have started revolving over my head and I surely need to find answers for them as fast as I can. Let's hope I see some shades fading out and a clear sky would soon be in sight. Till then it is going to be a little hard run. I guess it's just a phase and will surely go.

Idiots at the very best

After a long time, almost to the length of the movie we have seen laughter still continues. That's the best part for 3 idiots. The movie is certainly the best work of Aamir. The storyline flows well, with the movie and for the remaining part Aamir makes sure we are not bugged. Other than the normal ticket pricing, this movie was a little high priced but surely looking at the movie it feels the amount was worth it. The movie also ends in a very dramatic way and the suspense that opens at the end leaves us scratching our heads.

Life for an engineering student is so well portrayed that it feels as if we are part of the scene. Inspired by Chetan Bhagat's Five Point Someone the movie still makes a successful mark in our minds. Many reactions that we heard after watching the movie were like its the next version of Dil Chata Hai, or Aamir's best work etc. Thankfully all pointing towards the good work.

All and all a treat to watch this movie.

New Post new phone

More than a month without writing, was a difficult thing for only one reason which is never difficult. Yes but i had to break this lazy attitude and get down to some serious writing. To start yes probably the most in thing these days, I have a new mobile phone from today. Got one Samsung Star phone today. Looks a cool phone a lot nearer to the most popular iPhone. But definitely a lot lot cheaper. On the contrary at work lots of new things are happening lets see how things shape up. Willl surely write up here. Some interesting things have happened with me in the past one month like my cell phone lost for, i dont know how many times. But yes thinking optimistically this will enable me to buy a new phone and generate some cash flow into the economy. One good thing that is going to happen is my sister is coming back to her base camp Mumbai after her first year of MBA. Sure her MBA is a degree mostly heard by all from 5th grade to 15th grade. But not many have heard MBA in "Media and Entertainment". I have wrapped reading 2States, almost completed Paths of Glory saw a bunch of movies. I will definitely give comments of the on all, lets see when ?
for now yes i look done

Kyun ki Saas bhi kabhi Bahu thi

Some months ago the primetime slot on many television channels started seeing some brand new serials which were way better than the typical SaaS Bahu saga. It all started with the launch of an interesting channel called colors. It’s with colors that some real good programs started stepping on the Indian television stage. Issues that were grounded to the roots of the traditional India like child marriage, killing of girl child, rich dad poor dad’s children were brought to light. Other channels like StarPlus still are experimenting with some SOAP matter even today.
Days passed and routines were established for millions of Indians to watch these drams folding and unfolding each evening (not sure if weekends are spared from this). Today it’s again becoming like last year when Tulsi was ruling almost every house across the country. To add some spice to the drama, these days we have a wave of reality shows that are featuring on every channel. Shows to find our reality of marriage, taking care of small children, BigBoss (I don’t understand why people are so bothered about every action of 13 crazy guys.) Thankfully there are no cameras in the toilet otherwise imagine the TRP’s for the program. That’s not all the amount of stupidity, politics that are planned and executed by these small screen actors I wonder if there could have been a better way to use the talent of these people. If you realize there are over 15 conspiracies planned by numerous saas and bahus across serials in less than 3 primetime hours. I don’t understand if these channels are helping our society come out of these traditional thoughts or helping them cherish their childhood memories which have held our society in handcuffs.
And now all this was not enough there is a serial starting which will tell us what we were in our previous birth. God please save us please please please.

Officially no work'

For millions of people who work in the corporate world have to pass through a day of complete anxiety minimum once each year and that day is when the annual appraisal results are disclosed. Unofficially it’s a day of complete no work across the company. With smiles and fallen faces all over it becomes difficult for anyone to manage their daily work. One thought that kind of runs through my mind especially on such days is what should we claim as success? Is it our effort that we take in our daily work or is it the reward that we get at the end of the year in terms of salary revisions. Sometimes it’s money that drives our motivation to work harder. On the contrary sometimes it’s the motivation for some good work that we do at our work place, which we believe helps us gain more experience. Both the reasons are very valid and are rightly considered by almost everyone. Even then it’s human to feel bad when we do not get what we are expecting for close to a year.

We still have to move on and have to wait for the tides to change and hope that someday things will fall in our favor

Raining runs at Nagpur

It's a shower of rains at Nagpur with India batting first has posted a mammoth target of 354 for Australia to chase. This was surely a spectacular performance from our side and that too in times when the big guns like Sachin and Yuvraj did not fire. But then it was the Captain MS Dhoni and the next Mr. Dependable Gambhir who took the proceedings further until it became tiring for the score keepers to manage. Pointing and his team were in a total fix for what they were seeing. The ball was being hit all across the ground and the crowd was just going brazier. For sure its been a sparkling performance put up by team India.

Let's see what is Australia's response to this.

Movie Review: Wake Up SiD

WOW !!! an instant reaction from me when I came out of the theater. A very light headed movie to watch. The best thing of the movie was Konkana Sen. For Sid, well it was a lesson for life. Songs were nice and I am becoming crazy about iKtara. Another good thing about the movie is, it did not take Sid a big jhatka to get serious with life.

I would love to watch this movie again.

Too Many things again

For the past couple of weeks life is taking new turns every day, be it the work circle, friends, family or any other areas. These paths surely are teaching me many many things on their way but then I really want them to get me on to a stable path. I am trying to list out what I want to do in the coming days and somehow I am just not able to do any of this perfectly. Want to pray to god and request him to help me with getting these problems solved.

I want to do these many things going forward:

1. Concentrate more at my work place and do a great job
2. Be extra careful about my health and ensure that I exercise every day
3. Want to write more and write more meaningful matter
4. Want to focus more on www.bestvidon.com and take this to the next level
5. Spend more time with my family

All the best Jeetesh !!!

Wish come true

Well a small wish, but means a world to me. And it came true for a very dear friend of mine. She attended the launch of Chetan Bhagat's new book "2 States" and got a chance to meet Chetan in person. I am very happy for her :) and can imagine how happy she is after meeting him, coz the first thing she did after meeting him was she called me, and the excitment and happiness was clearly felt in her voice.
I am very very happy for you Trupti.

It's better in Konkan

With the world reaching to Goa the so called exotic place for a nice vacation, we were toddling around the cost line of Maharashtra more commonly known as Konkan. And for those days yes I feel its a much better to spend your weekend in Konkan along time beaches of Malvan, Tarkarli, Chivla and many others. These beaches are fairly less crowded and one can enjoy the madness and can relax a world here. To reach this place the approach road is fantastic and is worth a drive. I would love to drive along this road again. There are many good places as well which we can explore along this coastline. During our 3 day stay here we managed to visit places like Tarkarli beach, Sindudurg fort, Chivla beach, rock garden, ganesh mandir and sangam. MTDC has made provisions for house boats here. You can enjoy a stay in these house boats and be rest assured its a memorable stay. If the weather is good and the sea is clam we can do snorkling as well which otherwise is available in Andaman only. :( The boat ride to the sidudurg fort is just too good. One keeps wondering how could Shivaji Maharaj manage to build such a great structure in the middle of this sea. Hire a tourist guide and he will take you around the fort and sure you would love to hear some astonishing tales and some interesting facts about the fort and its history. The only sad part of the trip was the rainfall which for some reasons just not coming to a halt. By gods grace everytime we were to go to a place to see something the rain gods showed us the way. There we also visited my mom's village called Masure. On the last day while returing back we went to Ganpati Pule. Another intersting place and finally exhausted like anything this bunch of crazy guys came home and hit the bed hard for a sound sleep.
Some snaps from our visit.

Movie Review: Dil Bole Hadippa

Not sure what would be the exact one word answer if one asks how is this movie. Since this is my blog and I have the freedom to express my views I feel it was a decent movie. The subject was nice but yes could have shown in a better way. I mean we all know that women today are there in every field marching hand in hand with men. And on many occasions out passed us. But somehow using cricket as a medium did not go along so well with the movie. But yes definitely a good comeback for Rani. Songs are lively and the story line keeps us laughing many times. I am sure after the movie becomes tax free you can definitely watch this. Sahid has done a fair job,[caution: reviews on acting are made strictly on my limited understanding of acting as a profession]. One notable thing, there is this hep model shown as Sahid's friend in the movie, I mean what on earth is she doing in the movie apart from showing of her body.
All and all you can watch it once if you do not take movies so seriously and want to just freekout.By the way this is my 100th post.

Another Aniversary at Persistent

Yes another 365 days gone by(provided this is not a leap year). So, early this month I have completed my 2 years at Persistent and the journey is still going strong. Another milestone that I crossed on the way, Persistent is my first company where I am there for over two years now. In these two years I have got the privilege to learn a lot from each one I have interacted with. The Business Development team that I am working with is a wonderful team along with my testing folks. As part of this team, I have got a chance to work with some real master minds of various technology areas like mobility, Cloud, Microsoft etc.

Hope to reach many more milestones at Persistent.

Where are you

Not sure how many of you are asking this question to me. If at all my blog is being read. :) Well the simple answer is BESTvidON. Yes most of my time these days goes in updating the site. www.bestvidon.com If you have not yet seen the site, then I must tell you its high time you see it my friend. We need each one of you to visit our site.

Here I am

With the chain of events finally coming to a steady routine, I am back at my blog. Past few weeks have made me shuffle between many events. It all started with my dad's sudden medical problem in his back. He had to be operated for a major spine surgery called as fusion surgery. Then some problems at my work place followed by some issues with my websites analytics.

So finally now things are falling back into place and a routine is now being established. Dad is doing fine and can walk slowly, the office problems seems to have settled and my website analytics is back on track and the graphs seem to take the upward route again. My stay at Wokhardt hospital was kind of an eye opener for what more we need to do in order to ensure we take complete responsibilities of our family and the benefits of an insurance. I seriously need to start saving some money. Many advancements have come into the medical field today, there was a time when it was said that spine surgery is probably the most risky one. But with endoscopy and many other advancements its become very less risky affair. Today when I have resumed office back I am still wondering what should I do more to ensure a smooth safe life for my family. Our parents have spent all their life to get us here, now its our turn to take care of them in the best way possible. This rat race seems to have grabbed us so strong that finding and out door to this is becoming so difficult.

One thing that we will keep doing always is to take full efforts now and the good news about this is effort does pay off . By putting our mind to it, by working hard, by never giving up even when it feels hard we don't necessarily see success right away don't give up because every thing is possible with a little bit of effort even the earth can be at our feet.

Jeevan mai aapke naya sunrise

It’s one line that just does not go out of my mind. I love this as of Nescafe sunrise. The jingle is just too nice and good to hear. The model looks nice in the ad video.

Enjoy this video at:

“Jeevan mai aapke naya sunrise”

Catch up again

For many weeks its been a lazy lazy attitude of me. But want to catch up with this. For all these days I was primarily focusing on www.bestvidon.com my startup portal. We are nearing a month after the launch and we have over 620 visits, with an average of about 20 visits per day. Surely its a very small number and has to significantly increase. The video database in increasing today we have over 120 ads aligned to different categories.

In the coming weeks, my prime focus is to increase the visits to www.bestvidon.com All the best to us….bestvidon1

Clean Clean Clean

The nausea for cleanliness is increasing like anything these days. People all over suddenly are waking up to the fact that one must maintain some hygiene in their life. But for some veterans in cleanliness its a day like any other. For instance my friend, she is my role model for cleanliness. All this while, I have been thinking is it so very important to be a cleanliness freak? I have discovered it now that answer to this is YES YES and YES.

If not always but at least in such situations it really helps.

Swine Flu – On the other side

It’s in the air these days, making some ground breaking news. The understandable scare that’s there in peoples mind had made the situation more worse for anyone to handle. If you look closely to this whole story some real astonishing facts start surfacing. Like its just NIV and some other Government Institutes who do the blood sample testing. Imagine the amount of samples they might be receiving for testing. Which results in delayed results and most importantly, a fear of some error in the reports. I mean its human to make mistakes, so if we consider the error rate then definitely some –ve result had been as +ve or visa versa.

The other big problem, the recovery table TamiFlU is manufactured by just one company. So the demand supply ratio just never seems near. No private clinic is being given the right to test blood samples for H1N1 which is just increasing the pressure on institutes like NIV.

And our best friends our Politian's are making the best use of this opportunity to gather as much attention of people by more talking and less actions (that’s understandable).

let’s all hope to see some respite coming in the days to come.

Google Analytics

Analytics at its best. If you have a website and want to know everything about who's accessing it, from which geographies and for what time. Google Analytics is what you need to have. And its absolutely free. Since I had enabled google analytics for my site I have just been zapped to see what all data does google analytics provides.

Google guys you rock.

Nearing 300 visits

With over 10 days since launch www.bestvidon.com has pulled close to 300+visits out of which we have over 131 unique visitors. This definately is a good start hope to see this number increasing gradually. The new look and the rapidly updating television commercials will be a treat to watch for everyone.

Get set go...

The first ever campaign for www.bestvidon.com has been launched today. At the back glass of my car goes the first ad campaign. The car is now all set to roll down the streets of Mumbai and Pune.

Forbes India

Forbes has recently launched its India edition. This is one of the best magazine for decades now. In last weeks issue there was a big story on Anand Deshpande our MD. The struggle for Persistent Systems, its inception, growth so far and the future that lies ahead. A very nicely written article with some hard facts that have been highlighted. Specially on the growth path when other IT giants that have grown two folds why is it that Persistent could only manage a mear $100mn in 19 years now. Sure the future will a different story to tell. With the recession slowly going and the bright side of the sun that is visible now, it will a story to cover about how Persistent cashes on this coming opportunity and makes a world out of this.

Aggressive Trade week

This week for the first time in my life I have seen so much of share trading. My friend Hima is helping big time in maintaining my portfolio. In fact the right word is that she is only managing the whole show. Thanks to her I have at least managed to make some quick money here.

Voice of Persistent

Music is in the air... Yesterday we had the grand finale of Voice of Persistent. The annual singing competition of our company. It was a nice fun filled evening and we were cheering up our friend Nishij who was among the 10 finalist. He sang really well. He made his place confirmed in the final top 5. It was a proud moment for his parents who had come all the way from Sangli to watch his performance live. We were sitting in the crowd waving the posters. We were privileged to have Prabhakar Jog as the chief guest for the evening. And it was indeed great for all of us to hear him say a few words. Our MD Anand Deshpande was present for the whole event and that kind of boosted the morals for each team member.

Pratapgad, Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani (PMP)

A weekend trip was planned with no destination finalized we all cramped into my Maruti 800 set off on the road to decide which place to go. Options kept flooding our brains from Rajmachi to Torna to Panhala and finally we decided to go to Mahabaleshwar, Panchgani and Pratapgad. Making sure we stop almost at every possible scenic spot we drove along the ghats, waterfalls, clouds, fog, ponds and plateaus.  Most importantly we managed to return back to our homes in less than 12 hours which apparently is considered next to impossible. Almost every waterfall on the way was being stopped and looked up with excitement. We were even greeted by a snake on our way back home. All in all an exciting trip over this weekend.

Movie Review: ICE Age3

Ice-Age-3-t04

Over this weekend saw the ICE Age3. Its a wonderful movie. I had missed watching the second part. :( The whole story flows smoothly along the movie Sid the main culprit for the movie or the reason for this movie ends up in the Dinosaur era in his attempts to establish a family. And the rest part of the movie is the journey to get Sid back home. Its definitely a  must watch for everyone.

My rating *****

Over to Internet

Finally yes, we have successfully developed and launched our first internet portal.

http://www.bestvidon.com/

For the best television videos on the internet log on to this site. Months of efforts with attempts from various angles have finally seen some fruit. Tough evolving but this site is definitely going to be our next big thing.

This idea could see some serious discussions happening around some time last month, we even developed a home version of the proposed portal. When finally it was decided to let experts handle the development task and we should focus on getting the data, plan for launch ready. For now its still a journey that has just begun but yes its a small step but a giant leap for us.

We would urge all of you to visit
http://www.bestvidon.com/ and let us know your views on

My role model

For some years now I have considered this lady as my role model. image

Julie Payette

Astronaut, Canadian Space Agency

It was the first time when i saw a video on NASA’s website about her thoughts and bang I was taken into a thought of life on how one should look at life. Today this lady had made trips to the Space and has conducted several space walks. These days she is aboard Endavour on STS 127. NASA’s mission to the ISS (International Space Station).

Metro on road

Two days of just news and news on the metro bridges coming crashing down to ground 0. It started with New Delhi and last night Mumbai joined the party. I wonder, if the other routes are safe to use and it also gives birth to another thought in my mind, if there is any corruption or some under cover deals that have happened with the materials used in construction.

Can’t say anything right now but for all we may know it might be just a coincidence or chain of events with a lead role played by Mr. Fate.

Weekend On Roads

Like every weekend this weekend was relaxing and fun filled. We went for a drive on the Banda Worli Sea link and it was a gem of a ride. The sea link is definately an engineering master piece. All this while people have been envisioning a quick shortcut road to south of Mumbai which is now a reality. Apart from that I took my car to Mumbai and needless to say the drive was just too good. Nice rain showers and fog all over, with mountains covered with vast green trees and grass.

OOO (Out Of Office)

Finally, after months of hard work :) and just work, our BD (Business Development) team managed to sneak a days leave and run away on its maiden outing. A group of 15 people cramped into a 17 seater bus. We started on Friday morning and came back on Saturday night. We went to kashid and Nagon beach. And a couple of forts as well. We did see a nice lighthouse at the base of Korlia fort. These two days it was a very pleasant view of the sea and the relaxed weather. More than anything it was such a nice feeling to be away from the mails, the calls and the happiness of being disconnected from the whole world.

On the trip we did some very funny things like traveled on roof of the bus and trust me the view from there was just ow some. Played cricket with a plastic ball and our team managed to snatch a victory from the opponents hand on the last ball. It was no less thriller than the T20. Had a blast on food for these two days.
Hope we go on more such trips more often.

Attached are a couple of snaps from our trip.

Bandra Worli Sea Link: Now Open

The much awaited infrastructure project of Mumbai the Bandra Worli Sea Link is now open to the public. It was inaugurated by the Congress President Sonia Gandhi today. Its a good 5 KM stretch over the sea, and for sure a great ride. We will have to pay Rupees 50 as tax every time we are using this sea link. HCC the company who has built this sea link can take toll for 30 years to recover its cost. The total cost in cured to build this sea link is over Rupees 1,634-crore ($16.34 billion). The bridge has surpassed all other projects of the state-run MSRDC in terms of its sheer beauty, grandeur and the attention it has grabbed from the whole country in the past few months.

Amul: The taste of India

image001We all have heard this line time and again for years. Amul is turning 60 this year and is still going rock solid. The amount of market capitalization it has the brand image it carries and a perfect positioning among its consumer segment are all most important reasons for Amul to be successful even today. The good part is that Amul is ensuring that its changing itself to address its evolving consumer base. The new advertising campaign, the new brand image and many other initiatives the company plans to take in coming months will surely give Amul that leading edge.

Amul has recently conducted a market survey and have made some very strategic decisions on how well can they position their offerings to a wider consumer base.

So its time to 'chill your dil' the new Amul commercial…..

Movie Review: New York

***, A very nice subject to make a movie, and yes a great job in making one. Everyone has done a good job. The songs are nice and the storyline goes along very well. The movie is all about how life changes for people in United States post 9/11.

And the fact says its been a tough time for as many as 1300 people who were illegally detained. The authorities "FBI" (Federal Beaure of Investigation) were literally picking up people on a very stupid line of thought and it was the WTC (World Trade Center). Be it a drawing, or a project report you made on WTC, or some photo you took of WTC. I mean come on guys you claim to be the best in business and even then you make such goof up. This was not enough for them because after taking these people into custody FBI has torched or if I may use the word brutally torched 1300+ people for over nine months only to understand that none of them was by any means not involved in the WTC attacks.

This is no brain er that AlQaida the master mind for these attacks would not let it's planner stroll the streets of United States after the attacks and get them caught so easily. I mean come on guys you got to have this much brains. The most sad part of the story or who knows the reality is that some people might have taken the route of terrorism to teach U.S a lesson. There are reports that most of these people even today are not able to come over the touchier they had for nine months. Their lives changed completely no company is considering hiring them for job no social life and the scare of being picked up again with which they have to live for the rest of their lives. Eventually some questions that I would like to ask the U.S authorities is who is responsible for this ? would the U.S authorities take care of these people can they give them back their lost dignity and respect ?

Imagine to what extent can the U.S authorities go to keep their country safe and why on earth do they stop Indian from taking any preventive step or even a after step for those n number of terrorist attacks that we have faced for all these years. If one attack on U.S is a good enough reason for them to trigger a war is it not correct if India raises its concern and does something for security of its people. Why does U.S have to intervene in all matters of India ?

Mumbai’s wet again

The first showers of the season have finally arrived in Mumbai and as always its small swimming pools all over. It’s definitely a respite for every one and specially for the farming areas around Mumbai. Like every year this time around we will have to juggle our ways around pot holes and man holes.

Again coming from our patent source of Information www.rediff.com are some photos of Mumbai getting its first bath of the year.

No Exam

The new government, new ministry, new reforms and everything that you can think of is new in the air these days (including Swine Flue). One such new thing that I came across was the a proposition from our HRD minister Kapil Sibal is about not conducting the class 10 board exam. Sounds crazy right!!!

Another proposition that is seen in his statement is of unifying all state boards and have one central board. This is definitely a good thought appreciate this. Students can decide which university they want to join for their educations.

Sounds a great news but on the contrary this may not be a good idea as the value of this exam and probably this is a the best way in which students can know where they stand. This is still under discussion but who know this could soon become a rule. This is India anything is possible.

Why cant you...

A puzzle, as it has always been for me, why is that everyone always is unhappy, worried complains about that one characteristic of an individual. For instance me, I get to hear from the whole world that I am forgetful, i am not very careful, or i do not take things very seriously and what not that falls in the same bracket.

Many times i keep wondering whys is it that one such characteristic is lookup or focused so much that other qualities are just left unnoticed. And as far as every species on this planet, I believe every one has some or the other drawback or a bad quality but at the same time every one is gifted with some good quality be it a bird or a fish or a tiger and deer each one has something great but is accompanied with that one sad characteristic that gets it into trouble. A deer no matter how good it is in running is still chased by a leopard or a bird how sad in looks still can fly like no other.

So why can't we accept that one bad characteristic of an individual and be happy about the remaining.

Book Review: What the customer wants you to know

book

Finally I could write this post after I finished reading this book, suggested by my manager. Its a good book specially if you are part of sales or the business development team. The new titled “VAS”-Value Creation Selling as a concept is good and nicely explained. The start to the book is very nice, it gets us involved into the book right at the start. Buts yes some where in between the whole message starts to dilute. Overall many things to learn. Implementing these changes will definitely be the thing to watch out for.

Heartfelt Condolences

My heartfelt condolences to all the families who have lost their loved ones in the Air France plane crash. It was a very sad incidence that a plane just went missing over the Atlantic ocean.

With bodies of those passengers are now surfacing and the intensified search for planes voice data recorder and the black box should help us ravel the mysterious crash. Air France Flight 447 disappeared on Sunday with 228 people on board and officials believe there were no survivors. Several structural parts of the Airbus 330 have also been recovered at the crash location, where Flight 447 sent a burst of messages complaining of electrical problems and loss of cabin pressure.

Bandra Worli Sea Link an Engineering Masterpiece

Since its day 1 the Bandra Worli sea link is making news. Well, now its nearing its big day. This sea link will open for traffic on 16th June 2009. This engineering master piece will provide a great drive for all commuters. Most important of all this sea link will reduce the runtime by a woofing 45 minutes ( as per Mumbai standards 45 minutes is a very big time save). I am dying to hit this road at the earliest. You can get a good glimpse of this bridge from Bandstand.

Some latest pictures of this bridge:

But its not Google…

Flaunted as the next big thing by Microsoft, Bing is launched as a competing search engine by Microsoft. Needless to say if its a Microsoft product the user interface has to be cool. Using bing for searching the internet will be the real test for this new search engine. Some people say its good, but yes its still in beta so things would be very clear only when we see this search engine operating in a complete live environment. But for now its definitely a thing to watch out for. :)

Finally there is some competition for the big daddy of internet search engine www.Google.com

Raigad: The King of Forts

This weekend got a chance to visit the king of all forts The Raigad. This fort is called the capital of the Maratha Kingdom. It was here that Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was made the king of the maratha empire. Not many things are remaining at the fort today, but still it kind of lights the memories of history when these chapters were being written. Most part of the fort is still intact the main entrance, the staff offices, the carnation hall the amunation stores, secret discussion rooms etc. The fort has a nice MTDC resort also at the top, with quality food. For every Indian its a must visit place.

A Beautiful Mind

Just finished watching one of the best made movies in my lifetime. Its now after 27 years into existence that I am watching some brilliant made movies. A Beautiful Mind is one such master piece. Every one has done a great job. The story is just too good.

The movie starts of very nicely and then until end of part-1 of the movie you just can't figure out whats actually wrong with John Nash. The struggle and the grand comeback in the end is just too good.

INS Talwar in action

This is five times in a row that Indian Navy war ship that was patrolling the Gulf of Aden has foiled another piracy attempt. The news reported that a vessel called MV Maud sent a distress call. The Indian war ship INS Talwar immediately responded to the call and advised the vessel to increase speed and carry out evasive maneuvers to avoid getting boarded.

Also a helicopter with Marine Commandos
was sent to the rescue site.
The commandos emptied the skiff of its fuel and set it adrift as INS returned to her patrolling duties while warships from other navies arrived on the scene for follow up action.

Yes 700 movies. Now thats a number, you see.
She is no more with us, but her movies and her acting will always ensure that we remember this great lady.

Company Matters..

The company be it our organization or the company we keep around us makes or breaks us. This is so very true for each one of us. But in context of the following story the first thing that comes to our mind is Mogli (The Character of Jungle Book) brought up in company of wolfs.

Russian police have taken into care a five-year-old girl who has been shut up in a flat in the company of cats and dogs for her entire life, police said on Wednesday.

The girl, who lived in the Eastern Siberian city of Chita, could not speak Russian and acted like an dog when police took her into care. "For five years, the girl was 'brought up' by several dogs and cats and had never been outside," a police statement said.

"The unwashed girl was dressed in filthy clothes, had the clear attributes of an animal and jumped at people," it said. The flat had no heat, water or sewage system.

A police spokeswoman said the girl, known as Natasha, is being monitored by psychologists in an orphanage. Her mother was being questioned but her father has not been found yet.

She appears to be about 2-years-old, though her real age is five, refuses to eat with a spoon and has taken on many of the gestures of the animals with which she lived, police said.

"When caretakers leave the room, the girl jumps at the door and barks," the police said.

Feral children, the stuff of folklore all over the world, usually exhibit the behaviour of the animals with whom they have had closest contact, a condition known as the Mowgli Syndrome after the fictional child from Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book who was raised by wolves in the jungle.

Such children have usually built strong ties with the animals with whom they lived and find the transition to normal human contact extremely traumatic.

Now for something if we say its been around for 14 years, makes us say that’s interesting. Well yes indeed it is for Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge or more commonly known as DDLJ. Its almost 14 years since this movie is being shown in Theaters. This is the longest running film in the history of Indian Cinema.

Last month DDLJ completed 700th week at Maratha Mandir at Bombay Central. This film was released on October 20th 1995. Since then its running at Maratha Mandir. Maratha Mandir is one of the last remaining single screen theater.

Senorita, bade bade deshon main, aisi chhoti chhoti baatein, hoti rehti hain.

But i would say “Bade bade deshon main, aisi badi badi baatein, hoti rehti hain.

The Almighty

Be the Miracle,

Its a Beautiful day .....

Reminds you of something, yes its Bruce the Almighty. Now what you're thinking? its you me and all of us who think that there are problems and problems all around us. Whereas the fact otherwise is not this. We all deep down in our hearts think that life is not so good with us. The problems that we face the challenges that come in front actully take us one step closer to our goal. Its just left to us to realize our goal.

Now if this is getting a little to heavy on you then, I think i need to make life simpler for you me and all.

"Bruce Almighty" .... its a beautiful movie. You know what, please watch it. This movie is worth your time. More importantly many of us would want to be like Bruce tilll the mid second half of the movie but yes, I promise you would want to come down and be yourself once again. For all you may know, some one is really missing your company for a long time.

So all you folks just go there live your life to the fullest, enjoy and be very happy for what you are, god has created you like this for a reason and he knows the best whats the reason. So let him do his job and you concentrate on what you are good at.

Even now if this is confusing you then I must say that, the time has come for you to sit glued to the television sets and watch this movie.

Two days for the change

Lok-Sabha-Election-2009-Dates-and-Timing-jpg With less than 48 remaining for Mr. Fate to open up its secret box and tell who’s going to be the next PM for the Union of India. For all candidates this is more like the final over's of the T20 match when we just want to get over this and accept the result.

For all reasons it looks like it will again be Congress and we all have to suffer for the next five years. If I could make a choice I would give my vote to BJP.

Anyways by Saturday we all will come to know how’s the weather at New Delhi.

Mumbai Indians are back with a bang

A three match loosing streak was finally broken yesterday by Mumbai Indians when they defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Early loss of Sachin, kind of shocked the Mumbai Indians camp, followed by some hard hitting by Jaysurya. After Jaysurya was gone Mumbai Indian kind of settled their innings and posted a good defendable 156 for the loss of 2 wickets. Bangalore in the second innings could not cope up with the target run rate and scrummed to the Mumbai Indians bowling attack. The end result Mumbai won the match and its smiles all around Mumbai.

The bull swing

The Indian Stock market is witnessing some big swings in terms of the sensex which some times climbs up by over 700 pts, some days by just 5 pts. Probably the most unpredictable thing after girls these days. :)

For a budding invertors like me its very hard to decide what to do with the stocks that we have. But yes this volatile market at least makes us understand the investment fundamentals, market behavior etc. So I hope to learn these things as fast as possible and make some good fortune out of this.

A new Lesson

The 4 D theory, which I feel should be shared with all of you. After giving it some deep thought, yes I feel it does make sense. It goes something like this:

As humans we all have ambitions, dreams, thoughts, some wish that we want to get fulfilled. Probably  these 4D’s help us with inching more closer to our goals.

1st D: Direction: We must have a clear direction about which route we need to go in order to achieve our goal.

2nd D: Dedication/ Devotion: No matter what we do there should be no compromise on dedication and devotion.

3rd D: Discipline: Anything we do needs that discipline for carry our the task. This will ensure that we have our hearts are committed for this.

4th D: Deadline: No matter what you want to do in life, but the real fun is to set a deadline and then march towards this goal and finish this before the deadline is over..

Hope these 4D’s do the trick for us.

Movie Review: Me Shivaji Raje Bhosle Boltoy

*****,
I wish I could give more stars, but the max length has exceeded. By far the best best and the very best marathi movie that I have ever seen. The best part is this movie actually brings us face to face with the reality of what a common marathi man/women goes through in their daily life. Mostly in the city like Mumbai. The injustice, the ruthless behaviour the political influence the unnecessary drama and what not. This movie actually tells us how a common marathi person suffers and how can one fight back in such conditions. Every one has done a phenomenal job with their acting. The character of Shivaji Raje is played by Mahesh Manjrekar [the best in the acting business]

After the movie is over its more awakended self then ever before.

One step down

Today Mumbai Indians lost a close Battle with Kings XI Punjab in the IPL T20. The top raning batsmen for Mumbai didnt strike as expected. However the total was not a big one only a 120 to get in 20 overs. This looks achievable here, but on the track well its a different game all together.

In the end Mumbai lost the match by 4 runs. :( But never mind Mumbai Indians will hit back and hit back hard.

The Masters at their very best

ipl Today Mumbai Indians defeated KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) by a very big margin. The opening pair of Sachin and Jaysurya were at their devastating best this evening. It was raining sixes at the stadium all around. The live match was more seen as if the match highlights were being telecasted. Mumbai posted a mammoth total of 187 in 20 overs with a target of 188.

KKR lost the battle with all down in less than 95 runs.  For the crowd who had come to see the match, were treated with some great cricketing shots from Sachin and Jaysurya. Almost every bowler was beaten hard.

The next match Mumbai Indian play will definately bring people in much larger numbers to the stadium.

Season II of DLF IPL

The second season of DLF IPL has not been as great as it was the previous year. Many reasons to blame for but then, its good for us that we not get into those. Coming to the good part yes the fever is back and this time its more of a unpredictable series in progress. Deccan Chargers, the team from Hyderabad who was barley winning last year has not lost a match as yet in this season. One star performer of last year the Chennai Super Kings is not able to catch the speed this time around.

Mumbai Indians [my favorite] have gather enough momentum this year that they are marching nicely for now. And for Mr. Sharukh Khan the lead of KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) is failing this year too. My prayers are with them. :) but otherwise a great entertainer.

The High speed Internet

Today for the first time on my laptop I am using a 1 GB broadband connection from Halthway and I am very happy to surf the internet at this speed. For a user like me who has used a Reliance NetConnect data card which gives you a great speed of 16 KBPS(I know its hard to believe) but that’s the fact. There is one good thing this NetConnect card does and that it teaches you to have patience.

Now after I have this 1 GB Broadband connection and I am able to see YouTube videos, this is kind of a great experience for me. Hope I make some good productive use of this internet connection.

Broadband connection rock on ….!!!

Using a new editor

I recently downloaded a cool editor from Microsoft called Windows Live Writer. Looks like a cool editor. More simple and easy to use. {The Microsoft USP}

The editor has all the functionalities from image, link, table etc that otherwise is difficult to add on to our blogs. This editor also allows us to add more plug-ins. This definately is going to be an interesting thing to explore.

This should help me blog more often :)

If you want to download this tool, just follow this link

Will this takeover help an over take

Today the IT industry in India, the media, the general public, thousands of Satyam employees have seen a dramatic result where TechMahindra has emerged as the sole successful bidder in the race to takeover the tumbling giant "Satyam Computer Services". Tech Mahindra's bid was standing at 58 rupees per satyam share which was 10 rupees more than its nearest rival L&T infotech.

For now at least over 50,000 + satyam employees can hope for a bright future. With Satyam in its kitty Tech Mahindra can overnight has become one of the top 5 IT solutions provider from India. Which otherwise would have taken years. :)

It will only be the light of tomorrow that will tell us weather this take over has helped TechMahindra over take its competitors in the market.

Almost Lost It

Strange things happen in life, we hear this from every one time and again. People in the software domain hacking is not a unknown word. But if hacking touches your life then you are in trouble. This is coming from a hacking affected person. My Gmail, orkut, blogger account went under hackers attack. The person who had hacked my account changed the title of my account to "Sexy Sonia" now that's a tempting caption. :)
But alas Sexy Sonia, Google people suspended my orkut account. Two days I tried all possible ways to get back my account, I filled a long form on Gmail told them almost everything from the last mails that I had sent from my Gmail account. Unfortunately Google people said that they could not give my account back as they did not feel I was the actual account holder. :( This was ridiculous tough but I could not do much about it. Finally one last trick saved me from this and I could get my account back. god saved me.

Thank god I got my account back.

Movie Review: 8*10 Tasveer

Looks like its the measurement for a small room. But its the size of a photograph that takes us into the deep hidden murder mystery. A cool story to watch out for. The first half is nice but during second half you start feel being dragged. Aysha Takia could have done a better job with her acting because somewhere in between the movie we start getting the feeling of betrayal from her acting. I mean its a suspense movie and not a good idea to reveal the suspense so early in the show. Javed Jaffery is again at his best. Otherwise the dozens of family members have anyways made the screen crowded.

Jeet's Rating [***] don't think this Jeet has anything to do with the other Jeet (you know who :))

Music Edition that fits your pocket

This is one line that will definitely catch a lot of eyes. But its hard to believe that we get a cool phone in less than 3000 bucks that serves all your music needs, with a superior sound quality with dual speakers. It's the Samsung GT - E1410. To top it all we get a 1GB data card with this. Its like having icing on the cake. Only one thing that we do not get with this phone is a mobile cam, but I guess in 3000 its too much to ask for.

I am having a grea time with this phone.
