Officially no work'

For millions of people who work in the corporate world have to pass through a day of complete anxiety minimum once each year and that day is when the annual appraisal results are disclosed. Unofficially it’s a day of complete no work across the company. With smiles and fallen faces all over it becomes difficult for anyone to manage their daily work. One thought that kind of runs through my mind especially on such days is what should we claim as success? Is it our effort that we take in our daily work or is it the reward that we get at the end of the year in terms of salary revisions. Sometimes it’s money that drives our motivation to work harder. On the contrary sometimes it’s the motivation for some good work that we do at our work place, which we believe helps us gain more experience. Both the reasons are very valid and are rightly considered by almost everyone. Even then it’s human to feel bad when we do not get what we are expecting for close to a year.

We still have to move on and have to wait for the tides to change and hope that someday things will fall in our favor
